Mains Electric Clocks
E A Combs are able to supply mains electric clocks for many of the plastic and metal cased models within their range. These are suitable for all locations using 230volt/50Hz power systems.
The mains electric clocks are fitted with a battery backup, so that if there are cuts to the power supply, the clocks will continue to operate for several days until power is restored. All of these clocks are fitted with movements that have a continuously moving second hand.
In addition, some of the larger clocks up to 63cm in diameter and 60cm square can be fitted with a mains powered clock movement with automatic time changes. This allows the clocks to require minimal maintenance over a 5 year period. After this time, a change of button cell will be needed to maintain the calendar function within the clock movement.
Further, many of the radio controlled clocks can be fitted with a mains powered unit with voltage regulator, in order to maintain a stable current that is necessary for radio controlled clocks. This option will allow maintenance free timekeeping for many years. However, for this option, we strongly recommend that a battery radio controlled clock is tested to check that the MSF time code signal is well received at the intended location where the clock will be operating.
For the weatherproof clocks with fully sealed clock cases, models 6032 and 6033, as well as the 92cm diameter indoor clocks, these items are supplied with a mains synchronous clock movement. These are supplied with a hand set rod with an end knob that is located on the outside of the case for ease of setting the hands when required.
